What Herculaneum Tickets Really Cost in 2026

The short version: the walk-up ticket at the gate is cheap and the queue is usually short, so nobody needs to overpay here. The official gate prices

The standard ticket is €16. EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay €2, under-18s enter free with ID, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Buying through the official channel online adds a €1.50 pre-sale fee per ticket. Those are the whole official numbers. Anything above them is paying for something extra, which can be a good idea, but you should know the base before you judge the extras.

Queues at the gate are usually short. That is the honest part most ticket pages leave out, and it is why I send budget travellers straight to the official park site or the gate itself. For questions about reduced tickets, the ticket office answers on +39 081 010 6490.

Free days and season cards

Entry is free for everyone on the first Sunday of each month and on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November. No reservation is possible on those days: you collect a free ticket at the office when you arrive, and on a busy free Sunday entry is not guaranteed. The trade-offs are on the free entry days page.

Repeat visitors have the Ercolano Card: €30 per person for 365 days of entry, €58 for a family, €5 for young visitors. The Campania Artecard is accepted as well; activate it at the park ticket office.
